Training Project

We are thrilled to expand the accessibility of training and implementation support for the Pyramid Model to be delivered to child care programs across Colorado. This effort provides critical education, strategies, tools, program policies, and ongoing support to the early childhood workforce on social and emotional development and well-being.

Background

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the well-being of children and child care providers. The Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) identified three State and Federal Stimulus Strategies to support early childhood in Colorado. These strategies include ensuring all families have equitable and easy access to early care and education services, supporting the early care and education workforce, and strengthening communities and families. This project is focused on family strengthening and supporting the early childhood workforce.

The Pyramid Model training, coaching, and certification offered through this project supports early educators to recognize and reduce challenging  behaviors in children while increasing positive behaviors. It also reduces stress, burnout, and turnover among existing early childhood educators and staff, keeping child care facilities open and operating.

Pyramid Training

Healthy Child Care Colorado is offering 37 Pyramid trainings at no cost to eligible participants across the state.

The 45-hour Center for the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) Pyramid Model or Pyramid Plus Approach training serves as an equivalent to ECE 103 Guidance Strategies and is a Training of Special Recognition in the Early Childhood Professional Credential, which means it does not expire.
