Worldmind Nature Immersion School reunites children with the natural world. We create mindful, child-led outdoor experiences which support health, self-regulation, and learning. We intentionally link our students’ understanding of bio and social diversity, so they evolve into compassionate, self-actualized members of our local and global communities.
Vision Statement
Worldmind Nature Immersion School provides a continuous outdoor early-learning program for all children. Through multiple partnerships with Colorado museums and other institutions, we expose our students to a rich variety of outdoor classrooms to stimulate interest in learning. Our highly-trained and diverse staff welcomes each student to share in creating an individual experience with and within nature. In doing so, we celebrate all our differences while honoring the inner wisdom of each child to establish an understanding of self and others based on ecological consciousness.
Qualifications:
The person selected for this position must:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- ECT Qualified in Colorado
- Have experience in the field of early childhood education, elementary education, special education, family and child development, environmental education or child psychology
- Have experience with or knowledge of working with children with special needs
- Have experience or knowledge of working with children outdoors
- Have a non-remarkable background check
- Commit to ongoing professional development
- Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs
Responsibilities:
The Lead Teacher is responsible for the planning and implementation of a developmentally appropriate outdoor-based preschool curriculum. The Lead Teacher is responsible for safety, general supervision and management of a group of students. The Teacher reports to the ECE Director.
- Treat children, staff, and parents with dignity and respect
- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate outdoor-based preschool curriculum
- Plan and prepare the learning environment and prepare needed materials and supplies
- Provide appropriate supervision of all participants
- Perform general housekeeping tasks
- Attend staff orientation and all staff meetings
- Participate in the required 24 hours of professional development per school year
- Assist with or attend school sponsored events
- Demonstrate caring about children within and beyond the classroom
- Develop appropriate relationships with parents
- Communicate observation results to parents during parent meetings
- Collaborate as a team player with other staff and administrators
- Help meet the needs of individual children with respect for their interests, special
needs, talents, and individual style of learning - Create developmentally appropriate session plans
- Turn in developmentally appropriate session plans once a week to the director
- Meet all deadlines set by director
- Develop and/or maintain a portfolio on each child
- At least twice yearly, create an accurate and well- written assessment of each child’s development in all domains, including areas of strength, concern and individual goals
- Participate in all team meetings
- Meet all applicable licensing regulations and accreditation standards
Job Type: Full-time (30-35 hours per week)

Salary: $25-29

Employees classified as full-time (30 or more hours per week) will be offered health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as an opportunity to participate in the state-funded retirement program.
Sick Leave Policy: In accordance with Colorado State law, the Employee is entitled to accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year. Unused sick leave can be carried over to the following year, but the total accrued sick. Leave cannot exceed 48 hours at any time.
Paid Vacation
Full-Time Employees: Full-time employees will receive 30 days of paid vacation. These days can be taken at any time, although it is highly recommended that they be taken during school breaks to avoid undue stress on the rest of the staff.
