Early Childhood Teacher Infants/Toddler

Waypoint Early Learning Center strives to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate, and inclusive environment for all children in our care. Our mission is to provide an early learning experience that cultivates the skills that are needed to build a strong foundation for success. Our goal is to support the path each child takes while building a community of lifelong learners. We’re now hiring an Infant Teacher to help us keep growing and providing passionate and nurturing care.

Responsibilities for Infant Teacher

  • Provide a safe and loving environment for the infants in his/her care
  • Give bottles to infants as provided by parents
  • Feed infants’ solid foods as age appropriate and provided by parents
  • Change diapers as needed
  • Soothe infants by singing to and cuddling them
  • Supervise infants on the floor as they play with age appropriate toys
  • Put infants in cribs for nap time
  • Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean

Qualifications for Infant Teacher

  • Completion or completing ECE courses related to Early Childhood Education
  • Meet annual professional development requirements, per state regulations
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
  • Caring individual who enjoys teaching young children
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Extended periods of time sitting on the floor
  • Ability to work 8-hour shifts (opening or closing) may change based on the needs of the center.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Great customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents

 

Qualifications For Toddler Teacher

Curriculum and Instruction:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities: This includes planning activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and learning through play.
  • Facilitate learning experiences: Toddler teachers should create opportunities for children to develop language, cognitive skills, and social-emotional skills.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods: These can include storytelling, songs, art projects, and outdoor play.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs: Recognize and address the unique needs and learning styles of each child.

Child Care and Well-being:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children: This includes monitoring children’s activities and providing a safe environment.
  • Provide individualized attention: Pay attention to each child’s needs and offer support and encouragement.
  • Encourage positive behavior and social interactions: Help children learn to share, take turns, and resolve conflicts peacefully.
  • Communicate with parents: Keep parents informed about their child’s progress and any concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom: Create a positive and conducive learning environment.
  • Implement a daily schedule and routine: Help children feel secure and predictable.

Assessment and Communication:

  • Observe and document children’s development: Track children’s progress and identify areas where they may need additional support.
  • Communicate with parents and caregivers: Share observations and concerns, and work collaboratively to support children’s development.
  • Attend parent-teacher conferences: Discuss children’s progress and address any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records: Keep track of children’s attendance, progress, and any relevant information.

 

Job Type: Full-time
