The Early Childhood Program Assistant Director will be a part of the Administrative Team as we work together to plan, implement and direct a thriving Early Childhood Education program. The Assistant Director also acts as the enrollment specialist and supervises classroom teachers. The Assistant Director must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults. Additionally, the Assistant Director must be able to step in as Director, should the need arise. The Assistant Director will work cooperatively and collaboratively with the Administrative Team and other co-workers to embody and promote our values and vision.

  • Proficient in understanding and use of Microsoft Suite applications – Word, Excel, etc.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, and comfortable/confident using technology
  • Good command of the English language, both in written and oral communication.
  • Excellent organizational, project planning, and time management skills.
  • Confidentiality is a must
  • Ensure a healthy environment both indoors and outdoors – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and ensuring the safety and security of children, parents, and staff.
  • Comprehensive understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and child development
  • Up-to-date and open to continuous learning on neuroscience and research-based approaches to children’s brain development
  • Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Proactively seek out continuing education opportunities and collaborate with the admin to improve the program.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

  • Director Qualified, Level III Credential 3.0 with Colorado Shines PDIS
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Experience working with children in a group care situation
  • Dependability is a must. Full-time position
  • Able to pivot and be flexible in unexpected situations; remain calm in emergency situations.
  • Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • Active participation in monthly staff meetings and ongoing training.
  • Must clear a full background check and pass a health screening.
  • Physical Requirements Must be able to lift a child that weighs up to 50 lbs
