The Child Care director manages the operation of the school aged (ages 5-12) before and after school child care program. Child Care director duties include monitoring student attendance, safety, discipline and ensuring a safe, fun, enriching and developmentally appropriate environment for children.  The Child Care director will  assist with developing and implementing a balanced curriculum of educational, enrichment and recreational activities for children in the child care program including weekly lesson plans.  In concert with the onsite manager and other teammates, the child care director will prepare materials that are in compliance with State and local regulations, and promote good relationships with parents and the school community.  The Child Care director should have knowledge of child development.   The Child Care director should have the ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, Superintendent policies and building and department procedures.

Requirements of the Child Care Director:  Directors must be at least 21 years of age and have verifiable education or training in work with school-age children commensurate with state licensing guidelines.


  • Actively supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the child care program
  • Communicate with parents, school staff, and site manager regarding child or program issues.
  • Assist in the development of various curriculum programs and activities including weekly lesson plans for the successful delivery of a high quality child care program.

Pay: $19.64 – $28.26 per hour

Work Location: In person

Job Types: Summer & School Year

Expected hours: 30 to 35 hours a week (30 is considered FT)

Schedule: Monday to Friday
