Assistant Infant/Toddler Teacher Position

Nest Family Child Care has been a state-licensed private home-based child care program since 2014. We are seeking an energetic and caring individual for an Assistant Teacher position in our small Infant and Toddler program with 6 children. As an Assistant Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work on a small teaching team (one other teacher) and to grow with us when we expand to a small center in 2023.

As an Assistant Infant/Toddler Teacher, you will:

  • Work with the Lead Teacher in supervising infants and toddlers.
  • Help assess each child’s individual ongoing developmental needs.
  • Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules.
  • Assist in feeding, diapering, and caring for infants and toddlers from ages3 months to 3 years.
  • Comply with all applicable facility, local, state, or national regulatory rules and laws pertaining to children’s health, safety, and care.

Your skills and experience:

  • Ability to relate positively to young children.
  • At least one year of experience with Infants and Toddlers is preferred.
  • Is flexible and adaptable.
  • Holds passion and respect for young children.
  • Is team-oriented and communicates well.

The Perks:

  • This role pays $19.00-$23.00 per hour to start based on experience and qualifications.
  • Work in a very small program with a family-like atmosphere- 6 children and one other Co-Teacher.
  • $500 Signing bonus (within 90 days).

  • Flexible 6-hour per day schedule – Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, but some flexibility is possible.

The Requirements:

  • Must pass all required background checks
  • Training in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not required.
  • Must be willing to take state-required online and in-person courses for safety for infants and toddlers.
  • Must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib and occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, bending, and crouching.
