Mesa County Public Health was formed in 1948 as a political subdivision of the State. We  provide a wide range of public and environmental health services to Mesa County residents  and, in some programs, the region.

JOB SUMMARY

The Partnership for Children and Families (PCF) is the Early Childhood Council for Mesa  County. This position will promote the collaboration of the PCF among the various agencies  helping to provide Early Childhood Education services for the community from birth to age eight.  Represents PCF at Early Childhood Leadership Commission (ECLC) meetings and is an active  participant on the Early Childhood Steering Committee (ECSC). This position works  collaboratively with MCPH as the fiscal sponsor and directly supports the PCF Director. This  position provides coordination and implements services needed to improve the overall quality   and accessibility of Early Childhood Education services.

Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Extensive knowledge of  early childhood education and early care models are required. Excellent people skills are  essential. Must have regular attendance/punctuality and be able to cooperate with others. Other assigned duties include:

• Serve as a support to the PCF and all early childhood programs, in collaboration with a  wide variety of community agencies
• Work collaboratively with Childcare Licensing
• Provides outreach to the community of child care professionals by visiting programs regularly
• Recruit providers for high-quality rating
• Provide on-the-ground support to child care providers implementing the Colorado Shines  process, including all learning materials and enrollment in the Professional Development   Information System (within 6 months of hire)
• Collect and analyze all required data of state computer systems (within 6 months of  hire).
• Implement programs, trainings, and activities that support quality in early childhood
• Advise budgets, expenses, and financials for grant projects as assigned.
• Track and monitor program expenditures related to quality improvement work, coaching services and professional development using the state data system.
• Prepare monthly objectives, financial reports and timely quarterly reports, or as outlined,  for all grants or projects.
• Support the PCF Staff as requested in activities and projects to meet grant objectives.

Minimum Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education and Experience
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or equivalent experience/training
• 3 years experience working in ECE facility or as Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN)  provider preferred
• Experience with quality coaching preferred

• Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge,  skills and abilities required for the job.

• Advanced knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications including, Word,  Excel, and PowerPoint.

Supplemental Information
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING ENVIRONMENT
• This position requires standing, stooping, sitting, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 10  pounds.
• Work is generally confined to a standard office environment.
• May be exposed to communicable diseases and infections.
