Alvarium Learning Center is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and caring individual to join our growing learning center. This full-time, assistant director position requires teamwork, initiative, imagination, and flexibility. The ideal candidate conveys proficiency in early childhood education with administrative experience. The applicant must be able to work within a cooperative and supportive environment, promoting an atmosphere of community and collaboration among all families and staff. The Assistant Director will assist the Director with daily tasks and provide support to staff. Our Assistant Director supports the vision of Alvarium Learning Center.

Our school is dedicated to serving the families of the community with a calm, uplifting, and encouraging environment. The goal of our center is to give children a foundation of exploration, warmth, order, and joy that will nourish them in the moment and going forward.

Our hours of operation are from 7:00am to 5:30pm and the Assistant Director will be able to work between these hours. The ages cared for during the school year are from three months old to six years. The summer program serves also children ages five to nine.

The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in daycare center management, as well as strong leadership skills. You should display a friendly demeanor, have a love for children, and strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for both children and teachers.

  • Full time, Monday-Friday
  • Pay ranges from $18-20/hr. for early childhood teacher position, $21/hr. for our infant nursery supervisor and $21-$24/hr. for our assistant director position
  • Assistant Director position is full time, 8hr. shift, Monday-Friday.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s preferred
  • 2 years teaching experience required
  • Director’s certificate required
  • US work authorization required



  • Create a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children.
  • Manage and coordinate curricula with staff that complies with state and federal requirements as well as the vision of the owners
  • Ensure that center facilities are safe for children and comply with laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate and propose purchase for materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Manage and support teaching staff and promote their professional development.
  • Work with owners and director to interview, hire, and train new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements.
  • Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards and procedures.
  • Communicate and meet with parents regarding their children and the center’s policies.
  • Work with the owners and director to manage and oversee the budget and accounts.
  • Develop and facilitate a marketing and communications plan.
  • Communicating clearly with the owners and director in regards to changes and choices for the center


  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field or comparable experience.
  • Early childhood education experience.
  • Colorado Large Center Director Qualification is required.
  • Compliance with local, state, and federal laws governing child care.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

Full job description:

As the Infant Nursery Supervisor, you’ll be the lead in the care of little ones aging from three months to one year old. These little ones are eager to learn about and explore their world and you’ll be providing a safe and loving environment that nurtures the social, emotional, cognitive, creative, and physical development of each child.


  • Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of infants and young children.
  • Observes all rules and regulations at Alvarium and the local, state, or national regulations regarding the health, safety, and care of children.
  • Maintains a well-kept and clean classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
  • Maintains overall professional personal appearance.
  • Must be Infant Nursery Supervisor qualified through the State of Colorado.
  • Must be ECT qualified by the State of Colorado.
  • Have 1 year documented experience working with Infants in a licensed facility.
  • Assists in other capacities that Director, or Assistant Director, determines is necessary.
  • CPR and First Aid certified.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of infants and young children.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. and implement appropriate child safety, and handle potential emergency situations. Must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday, full-time.
