Natural Childhood: An ECHO mini-Summit

Join us on Saturday, September 28 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to explore the importance of outdoor play in early childhood settings. During this ECHO mini-Summit, participants will explore the importance of nature in childhood, learn how loose parts can have infinite possibilities, and hear from a panel of child care professionals actively naturalizing their outdoor spaces. Participants will learn hands on ways to engage children outdoors and feel empowered to make changes to their outdoor spaces.
9:00 a.m. – 9:20 a.m.: Welcome and introductions
9:20 a.m. – 9:50 a.m.: Green is good!
9:50 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.: Outside Exploration: loose parts and plant survey
10:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.: Break
10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.: Panel discussion with sites naturalizing their outdoor spaces
11:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Wrap up and next steps
The cost to attend this event is $10/person.
