Child Care Health Consultation 101 (2-Day Session)

An event every day that begins at 9:30 am, repeating until June 17, 2020
This 4-hour training provides specific Child Care Health Consultation information and resources to those nurses and physicians serving in this role in Colorado child care programs. Using lectures, scenarios, and group discussions with colleagues, this training describes the role and competencies for this unique health role that will foster a deep understanding of health, safety, and wellness practices in child care settings. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to define commonly used terms in early childhood related to child care health consultation. We will explain the regulations and qualifications for a health consultant, review the Colorado Child Care Health Consultant Competencies, and discuss relevant content for the contract between the child care program and CCHC. You will receive updates on important hot topic issues related to child care, including medication storage, training and delegation, child care licensing and sanitation rules, and more.
This training has been temporarily modified for completion during the COVID-19 pandemic. The course will be provided in a Zoom format, in 2 sessions and will include interaction among attendees. You need to complete both sessions in order to receive your certificate.
Session 1: June 16, 2020: 9:30 am – 11:30 am
Session 2: June 17, 2020: 9:30 am to 11:30 am
Participants will be asked to utilize Zoom features including the audio and video during class time. The online Child Care Health Consultant (CCHC) training (found at www.CO.Train.org) is required as a prerequisite. Before taking this training you must review the Child Care Health Consultant Competencies.
Please note: This course is the state-approved health consultant training for Colorado.
