Child Care Health Consultant 101

This 4.5 hour, face-to-face training provides specific Child Care Health Consultation information and resources to those nurses and physicians serving in this role in Colorado child care programs. Using lecture, scenarios, and interaction with colleagues, this training describes the role and competencies for this unique health role that will foster a deep understanding of health, safety, and wellness practices in child care settings. Upon completion of this course participants will be able to define commonly used terms in early childhood related to child care health consultation. We will explain the regulations and qualifications for a health consultant, review the Colorado Child Care Health Consultant Competencies, and discuss relevant content for the contract between the child care program and CCHC. You will receive updates on important hot topic issues related to child care, including infant safe sleep, medication storage, training and delegation, new child care licensing and sanitation rules, and more. Participants will also receive resources and materials for use in their role as a child care health consultant. The on-line Child Care Health Consultant (CCHC) training (found at www.CO.Train.org) is strongly recommended as a prerequisite.
Please note: This course is the state approved health consultant training for Colorado.
Attendees must preregister. Registration closes on January 25 at 5 pm. Please register prior to this date.
Fee: $25 – The training fee will cover all resource materials and the meal provided at the training.
