Why is the Census important?
Did you know that 0-4-year-olds are most likely to be missed in the census count?
The census happens once every ten years, so if we don’t count a two-year-old, your community will have less funding for education, child care, health care, transportation and other services they need for 10 years, most of their childhood. An accurate census count is critical to the federal government accurately distributing more than $800 billion in federal funds each year.
What is your role?
Early childhood programs have an important role in helping raise awareness related to the Census. Share resources with the families you serve so we can ensure all kids are counted!
